Today we get the first trailer for Bel Ami, starring Robert Pattinson. Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Christina Ricci, and Colm Meaney co-star in the film which is based on Guy de Maupassant‘s classic novel. It tells the story of Georges Duroy, a man travelling in 1890s Paris, who uses his powers of seduction to climb the social ladder.
From the looks of the trailer, I think he’ll deliver a solid performance and show a side of himself that audiences haven’t seen yet. If you’re into drama/romance/period flicks, then this may be right up your alley.
Sometimes hitting the multiplex just isn’t in the cards. That’s when cable, the web and streaming step in to provide an instant movie fix. But how to separate the wheat from the chaff? I’m happy to help; every week I’ll pick a flick and see if it’s worth your time. This week? “The Life Before Her Eyes”.
One horrible development in this new Millennium is the frequency of high school shootings. Yes, these things happened before the 21st Century, but with the advent of social media and the Internet’s all-encompassing eye, it feels as if they’re more personal somehow. As if every bit of information tweeted, Facebooked and YouTube’d brings you in a little closer, until you’re right there beside the survivors. The Life Before Her Eyes gives audiences a peek at how survivors of horrible tragedy may go on years afterward, when “Happily Ever After” may be out of reach.
Diana and her best friend Maureen – seemingly opposite personalities that have managed to form a strong bond – make a pit-stop at the girl’s bathroom before school and find themselves trapped when a vengeful student-turned-shooter finds them. He offers them a Sophie’s Choice; which one should he shoot? Cut to 15 years later, and Diana has what seems to be the perfect life. She’s an art history professor at the college her older husband (the same professor she fell in love with when she was in high school) works for. Her beautiful little girl is in parochial school but is starting to behave just like the wild girl Diana was years before. At the 15 year anniversary of the shooting, Diana starts to unravel, and the ghosts she seemed to have kept at bay begin tearing her apart. Only at the end of the film does the entire story of that day come to light.

Oliver Stone‘s new film “Savages” was given a release date of September 28, 2012. The film is a thriller based on the crime novel by Don Winslow, and has a great cast Blake Lively, Taylor Kitsch, Aaron Johnson Benicio Del Toro, Salma Hayek, John Travolta, Uma Thurman and Emile Hirsch.
The story follows two Laguna Beach entrepreneurs who have a thriving marijuana business. When the two men, played by Kitsch and Johnson, refuse to sell their operation to a Mexican drug cartel, they kidnapped their girlfriend.
Demian Bichir has joined the cast of Oliver Stone’s adaptation of Don Winslow’s novel “Savages.” Bichir is best known for playing Fidel Castro in Steven Soderbergh’s epic “Che” and Esteban Reyes on Showtime’s “Weeds.”
According to Variety, Universal will distribute the film. Stone is producing with Moritz Borman and did a polish on the script by Winslow and Shane Salerno. Shooting is set to begin July 6. The cast includes Taylor Kitsch, Aaron Johnson, Blake Lively, John Travolta, Benicio Del Toro, Salma Hayek, Uma Thurman and Emile Hirsch.
The film follows two marijuana growers and dealers (Kitsch and Johnson) from Laguna Beach who share a girlfriend named Ophelia (Lively). Ophelia is kidnapped and held for ransom when the two friends resist being pushed out of the business by a Mexican drug cartel.

According to theHollywood Reporter, it seems as if Robert Pattinson’s new movie, “Bel Ami”, finally has a release date. They claim that it’s set to hit theaters on October 19th this year, so be on the lookout for it around that time. It was previously reported that the studio was nervous about releasing the film, fearing that it might hurt Robert’s image since his character is a very unlikeable character. However, it looks like they may have finally come to terms with everything.
I just hope we can see a movie trailer soon, which also shows some parts Uma is included in.
I added 9 HQ pictures of Uma attending the “Ceremony” screening in New York City, New York on April 05, 2011. I’m still looking for some more HQ pictures to add them to the gallery.
Also, I uploaded 8 UHQ pictures of Uma at the “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” show on April 08, 2011. I’m going to upload screencaptures of the entire interview by the end of tomorrow.
Since Uma-Fan.com has been on a quite long hiatus, I didn’t manage to upload pictures from public appearances, such as premies, Uma attended. I started with uploading 35 UHQ pictures of Uma on the “Ceremony” premiere in Los Angeles on March 22, 2011. I’ll start uploading pictures of the other missing appearances. Make sure to check back!

I’m sorry I haven’t updated the pictures on time, but I had the flue during the last week. Uma attended the “2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards” and the “Chanel And Charles Finch Pre-Oscar Dinner“, both on February 26. I uploaded 9 MQ pictures of the dinner, and 12 HQ pictures of the Award Show to the Gallery.
